Great news! DST Fotografía becomes the Official Technical Service of DZOFILM in Spain

We are proud to announce to all our clients and the audiovisual community that DST Fotografía has been appointed as the official and exclusive Technical Service for the repair and calibration of DZOFILM lenses in Spain and Portugal. This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing the best technical support to cinematographers and production companies in our country.

DZOFILM: High optical quality within reach of creators

Based in Shenzhen, China, DZOFILM is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of professional cinema lenses. Over the past five years, they have made a significant impact on the industry, striking a perfect balance by significantly reducing costs without compromising on high optical quality. This has given content creators and filmmakers a wealth of options for creating top-tier images without incurring excessive debt.

The brand's philosophy is based on simplicity, efficiency, and durability, building compact, metallic lenses that withstand the wear and tear of professional filming.

Strengths of their lenses: Its lenses stand out for delivering exceptionally sharp, high-resolution images free of chromatic aberrations, while retaining a subtle vintage touch. Controlled spherical aberrations and diaphragms with up to 16 blades produce a smooth, textured, and rounded bokeh. Furthermore, they offer excellent color reproduction for achieving very natural skin tones.

A versatile and professional lens catalog

DZOFILM's range of lenses covers all the narrative and technical needs of modern cinematography:

  • Prime Targets: Notable lens families include the ultra-bright Arles Prime (T1.4) for Vista Vision format, ideal for low-light conditions, and the Arles Lustre, famous for creating a distinctive "Lustre Look" with amber flares and a cinematic golden halo. Also very popular are the Vespid Prime and Vespid Prime 2 lenses; these lightweight lenses (less than 1 kg), highly portable, and with a fast aperture (T2.1 or T1.9), are perfect for use on drones or gimbals.
  • Zoom Objectives: Their renowned zoom lenses are notable for being parfocal, meaning they maintain focus even when changing the focal length, and for having minimal and imperceptible focus breathing. These include the Pictor Zoom (T2.8) and Tango Zoom (T2.9) for Super35 format, and the Catta Zoom lenses, made of fiberglass and polycarbonate, making them incredibly lightweight for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
  • Special Ranges: For extreme shots, they have the Xtract Probe macro lens, an ultra-thin, waterproof probe lens for recording minute details, as well as their complex Pavo and Arcana anamorphic series.

About us: Laboratory experience and technology

As we like to remember, we have been working in the sector since 1975 and already have a track record of more than 145,000 repairs carried out.

Reconditioning a cinema lens eliminates conventional autofocus components, relying entirely on optomechanical precision and extremely tight tolerances. Therefore, our authorized laboratory boasts a unique infrastructure:

  • Collimator and Resolution Projector: These advanced tools (very uncommon in Spain) allow us to certify that the crystals perform mathematically perfect after being assembled, avoiding asymmetric vignetting or soft edges.
  • ISO 4 Laminar Flow Cabinet: We have a particle-free, positive-pressure environment. This is essential for opening lenses of this caliber and ensuring complete asepsis, eradicating mold or haze without contaminating the mount.

At DST we solve everything from parfocality loss (Back Focus) by calibrating with original steel shims, to the hardness of the toothed rings (focus, iris, zoom) and the repair of the metadata transmission contacts (/i Technology).

If you have heavy equipment or production cases, we can arrange secure shipping from anywhere on the Iberian Peninsula. We'll prepare a free, no-obligation quote, and our work is backed by a 6-month manufacturer's warranty.
